Moving to PP with a 4 and 7 yr old advice and help needed

Hi all
I've been reading the forum for a while and just joined. We have wanted to relocate to Mallorca for years but one thing or another it's not happened but now is the time before our children get much older!
So really just after some up to date advice as looking through the forum lots of posts about schools are quite old.
The sort of questions are
What local schools are there? And are they good?
How do you go about getting a place?
How easy is it for non Spanish speaking children to settle?
What age do they start school in Spain? My youngest won't be 5 until sept 2018.

Then I'd just love some general feedback on anyone who's moved fairly recently with a family and how they are finding it.
Did you rent first of all? It seems long term rentals are hard to.come by. Where can we look?

I have hundreds of questions but would be super grateful of any responses for now.

Thanks

Karen, welcome to the forum.
It's not clear from your post if you've spent time already in Mallorca, but many would recommend that you consider renting at first. That way you can remain flexible until you are sure you've found a town or country area you really want to live in. There are many good estate agents listed on this site. Maybe you'd get a better feel for which area you'd like to live in by having a fact finding trip here first. I'm sure lots of forum members can help you with the questions about schools etc but spending some time here first may be helpful too, especially out of season, when the atmosphere here is quite different. We love it here then but it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Thanks for your reply
We would definitely rent first. We know the island quite well and my husband lived in PP for 3 years. We've visited all diff times of the year but I've not been there over winter...my husband has and we've friends in PP.
It just seems hard to find long term rentals on internet. Any companies anyone can recommend would be good and yes I'd really love some advice on schools.

@Karen

Here are two threads you might find interesting re school.
http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...ensa-port.html

http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...teenagers.html

You could raise questions via the threads or, once you've had a number of posts, contact some of the members from the threads via PM for further advice?

All the best with your plans for your future.
