So between all of this, the price rises the hotels are applying and now the increase in tourist tax what's going to happen next? I've been coming to Pollença since I was 3 years old, 30 years on and the thought of being priced out of being able to visit, what genuinely feels like my second home, is horrible.

Please look back to my posts earlier in the year. 6 months is a long time in Mallorca or perhaps a short time for some. After the comments and remarks so savagely thrown at me I decided to take a 6 month break from this site. I didn't have a crystal ball and I wasn't trying to close PP as had been suggested but had tried to inform and warn of what was about to happen. Not a told you so at all. It is with regret to see so many will suffer but something had to happen. I was in the Port all summer. It was becoming unruly with so many people. Those who live here had little choice but to put up with some behaviour by a minority which was unacceptable. Even to find parking was impossible. Tourism brings employment and money but it can also cost it dearly if unmanaged. A place can lose it's respect. It is a time of change and time will tell. 6 months will be another short or long time but one thing is for sure change in my opinion is about to happen and probably for the best putting Pollensa on the map once again as THE place to be!
