Default Gas Cylinders

Does anyone know the correct price for a standard orange butane gas bottle. I have just been and fetched one from the Ferreteria behind the petrol station and was a bit taken aback to be charged 20 euros. Was I ripped off?

The last one we got from the Butano delivery lorry was about 17.50€, that was about a month ago.

The "correct" price has recently gone up to 17.50€ as Sparky says, but certain shops (ferreterias, trebol to name but a few) do add a small fee onto the price as you do not have to be registered with them to get a new bottle - convenience fee really . There is also a Repsol "agent" in the Port of Alcudia where you can get the bottles at the normal price. I use the word agent loosely as I think it is a bloke in a Repsol shirt selling them from his garage HAHA

Thanks very much Sparky. Need to buy a couple of new plus fill up the existing.
Husband asked me the question as he is in PP and I just couldn't remember if the day had changed. Thanks again.

What size of gas cylinder are you referring to? 15kg Calor butane (blue cylinder) is £33 here in the UK. The smaller 7kg cylinder is £21.50.

Thanks Danny and Sparky for the confirmation. Must remember to remind husband to put outside the gate or they don't stop do they?

This reminds me of years ago when we used to leave the empty plus the money in an envelope outside. Not sure it would be safe to do that now!

Did he leave an empty bottle outside the gate Eleanor?, they usually blast the horn when they see them but if they don't they drive on.
