Hi Dilly

You said that you have been coming to PP for 10 years.

"Anything you need to know?".

Ask yourself, why do you keep coming back? Lucky you, enjoy!!

It's maybe longer than 10 years
I remember the man with the little blue motorised tricycle
Who came along the front selling Ice cream

I have been coming for approx. 25 years+, and I suspect that you are quite correct - the little motorbike was almost certainly more than 10 years ago, to my mind, (although I could be wrong).

Think Senor Valls stopped his cycling about 15 years ago

Saw this thread and thought we were going to have a discussion of the various butterflies of Mallorca!
You do not say if you are buying a holiday home or moving over, that would help to know.
If its a just a holiday home, you are lucky because there are a lot to choose from, which is good if you are buying, not so if you are selling. If its a long term purchase then that needn't worry you, but if its just short term for investment, then you should consider what the position would be like when you come to sell.
We have been looking at property for the last 20 years, and we have certainly seen places up for sale for 2, 3 and even more years, something to bear in mind!!

We bought our apartment 12 years ago after holidaying in PP for 16 or so years. If you want to use it as a holiday home 3 or 4 times a year, and are not relying on making an income out of it (which because of the current laws are illegal anyway) then I would say absolutely go for it. We are not tied by work commitments so can go on a whim...for a long weekend, or a month at a time and absolutely love our second home in the sun. However after spending a freezing cold week there last week I imagine unless you buy a new build, underfloor heating would be a must..apartments are not built to be warm Call me a wimp but Mallorca can be a ***** in the winter!

Debz1, if you can't afford underfloor heating, have you thought of slippers?

Make sure you are aware of all the running costs. The one that many people tend to forget is the Non-resident property owners tax. Basically if you own a property but are not living in it then it is taxed as if you are getting an income from it. In round figures every year you pay a tax of about 0.5% of the registered value.
