Problems with water bills

We have a holiday home in the Calvario steps area of Pollensa. For the last few months we have been having very high water bills even when the property is empty. The property management company assure us there are no leaks. Any other home owners having the same problems?

Yes. Check where the pipe(s) are going from your water meter. A couple of years ago my water bill quadrupled and we discovered a separate pipe from our water meter "mysteriously" going into the finca next door. Hmm.
Meter should be on the edge of your property. Good luck.

Cheers. Will do. Lots of things not so tightly controlled as in UK.

We had the same problem a few years ago , our water supply was mixed up with another apartment in our community , the pipes came from our apt but had their number on them downstairs in the meter box , they were residents so our bills were huge . The administrator credited us the amount so all worked out in the end :)

Thanks both. You are not going to believe it, but it turns out they have been reading the meter incorrectly for several months and Emser2002 have just given us a large refund. I had been asking for lots of information from Emser about previous meter readings, but without my pushing don't think this would have come to light.

It certainly paid to check!
