Default Gommar/Gotmar improvements begin.

Just read this on FB.

Quote:
START THE WORKS IN GOTMAR!!!

Today they have begun work on comprehensive reform of the urbanization of Gotmar. The Mayor of Pollença, Bartholomew Cifre, first Deputy of the Mayor, Martí Roca, the delegate from Port de Pollença, Francisca Cerdà, have visited the works accompanied by technicians and representatives of the Association of neighbors of the urbanization.

The works will consist in improving the network of sanitation and drinking water, the renewal of the public enllumanat in their integrity and also, of the paving, so the paved road and sidewalks. In this phase it is also envisaged the burying of telephone wiring.

In this phase will include the main streets of Gotmar, Goldfinch Street and Vulture Street, and also the streets Buscaret, Starling, Bunting and a stretch of Pinçà. This project has a budget of 1.2 million euros.

Then it will be a third phase that includes the second stretch of carrer Pinçà, in addition to the Oronella streets and Columbus.

Default Gotmar regeneration

The second phase of three phases of the regeneration of Gotmar' s adopted - but neglected - roads is now full in swing. €2 million has been spent on the building work. The third phase, the regeneration of the drains and water and telephone lines of calle Orenella, leading to the top of the Es Puxet mountain, will be next. The neighbourhood association AAVV Veins i Amics de Gotmar has the experience and the success of collaborating with the Pollensa ayuntamiento to repair the roads. If you wish our help, please contact us and together we can improve and beautify Pollensa

This has been posted on FB by the Local Police :-

Quote:
Degut a les obres que s'estan realitzant a la zona de Gommar s' ha produït un tall al servei d'aigua, per aquest motiu al carrer Oronella no hi haurà aigua corrent fins demà al mati.
Perdonau les molesties.
Due to the works that are being made in the area of Gommar has produced a cut in water service, for this reason, Oronella Street, there will be no running water until tomorrow morning.
Perdonau the inconvenience.Translated by Bing
Although i find it odd that the police have posted it i suppose it is criminal that the residents will be without running water until tomorrow!!!

We recently received this Press Release:

"Residents of Gotmar are today happy, because the second phase of our regeneration has commenced: The public works project has a budget of € 1 million.
The work will include all streets between the Gotmar by-pass up to the foot of Es Puxet.

The first phase was completed in 2011 at a similar cost of € 1 million, from the side of "Hotel Pollensa Park” and "Hotel Panorama" to the new Gotmar by-pass.

The under-dimensioned, 30 year-old canalisation will be replaced and grey water, sewage pipes, glass-finbre internet cables, telephone lines and drinking water pipes buried under the streets. Most of the work will not be seen. The regeneration of the barrio, island-wide infamous for (once) being the most deteriorated public neighbourhood in Mallorca, the new lighting and new asphalt will vastly improve the value of homes, public safety on the streets and greatly increase enjoyment of all neighbours and tourists in beautiful Gotmar, the “Gateway to Port de Pollensa”

The Spanish registered association, AAVV “Veïns i Amics of Gotmar", and of which I am the founder-president, is the Spanish - English "joint-venture" committee of neighbours who have worked hard together and are responsible for achieving this amazing success and wishes to express its sincere thanks to the Pollensa council, the municipal engineers and planners, the political parties and to Palma Government - for their welcome and exemplary collaboration with our neighbourhood association on this important project.

Despite being founder -president of the Gotmar Neighbourhood association has, however, brought NO special advantages to Dr Bonsall, whose own street, Calle Orenella, will the third (and last) phase in the € 3 million regeneration project.

Kind regards

Dr Garry Bonsall
Calle Orenella
Gotmar"

Can anyone give us an update on the works - I was out 3 weeks ago and it was like a battle zone but things were moving on pretty fast. Pictures would be a bonus. Thanks
