Default Water prices

Can anyone tell me the Cost of water per cubic metre? Just received our water bill from the community AGM, and as we are on a water metre the prices comes according to how much we use. Apparently we used 59000 litres of the Stuff in the last 12 months. Can this be correct???

I would think that is feasible. If you consider hot water tanks start at 80 litres and you could use that for 2/3 people showering. I guess it depends how much your apartment is used and by how many. Can you not read your meter over a period and see if it adds up. In our community we just pay according to the sq meters of apartment and the overall bill is included in yearly budget.

Hi Fencer, 59000 litres a year is 161 a day which equates to 35.415 gallons a day, a bath must be 15 gallons, so about two bath fulls, doesn't sound as much like that does it?

In general terms it is often calculated that a household uses 100 Litres / person / day.
Therefore, say 2 people = 2 x 100 x 365 days / year = 73,000 Ltrs.
This is only a rough guide, so your 59,000 Ltrs doesn't look disastrous Fencer.

Yeah I have been looking at average consumption across europe, and Spain consume the most water per house hold. I have today taken a reading from the meter and will take a new reading next week. My question still stands though. How much is the Price of water. By the litre or by cubic metres. I have been charged 36.90 per cubic metre. Which seems quite steep. Or is it ????

As there are 1000 Ltrs in a cubic metre, it means you are being charged 0.0369 E / Litre.
BUT that does not answer your actual question. Is that expensive or not? Only the locals in P.P. / Mallorca can tell you that!
