Default Water Filters

Does anyone use jug-type water filters instead of buying bottled water in PP. If so, how practical are they and where is the best place to buy one?

Hello, I for one would never drink tap water filtered as most of the buildings are supplied
from a concrete tank in the ground which is topped up by the mains water at a low pressure.
These tanks can have bugs/creatures in them over time, so buy the bottled water
to be on the safe side, shop around for the best deals.

Millipet you can buy the filter jugs here, I have seen them in Milar and Confort but can't say how much they cost. We have a filter attached to the tap, it cost about 10€ and works really well. I drink a lot of water especially when it's hot and have not had any ill effects.

Question water filters

That's interesting Sparky. How do we get one fitted to the tap? Where do we get one and do we need a plumber to do the job?:

We have fitted a reverse osmosis system with 5 filters and produces pure water .This cost under 100euro's but we will soon have got our money back and no more humping bottles. It may need to be fitted by plumber, or could be self fitted by a handy person.

Hola M

We brought our old ons out from UK and bring out filters as we found that cheaper than in PP. We have used the filter all this year and have had no problem as far as we know!!

Some say we should not drink straight from the jug, but we mainly boil it for tea etc. It certainly improves the taste.

Hola Sparky

Is this a separate tap attached to the cold tap feed? Sounds a good system.

Hubby bought it in the ferreteria and it just screws on to the tap so no plumbing bills .

No it is on the kitchen tap which is a mixer style, when i want filtered water to drink i just turn a knob on the front of it and then turn it back for normal use. When i can find the camera i will take a photo of it and post it for you to see .
