Default ID cards

I am posting this message on behalf of a friend and hope this is ok? I thought it relevant to anyone no matter living in Pollensa or other areas but do delete Sparky if not appropriate.

Calvia Council is hosting a major debate on the return of the Credit Card sized ID cards.

This meeting is at 11 am in Calvia Town Hall and is open to all.

Many associations and the Daily Bulletin are all working for the same goal... Good to support them and say bye bye to the "green paper" nightmare!

They are looking for as many people to attend this meeting as possible.

Hi Eleanor, i read have about this and really hope they do bring in the new card, it will be so much easier for ex-pats. I have always said it is unacceptable to expect us to carry this piece of paper and passports around with us everywhere we go, it would be so much hassle if they get lost or stolen .

The A4 sheet of green paper has unready gone. It has been replaced by a credit card size piece of slightly thicker green paper. Still no photograph but a small improvement.

And now the health cards are to carry a photograph. Soon everything will have a picture on and we'll have no problem. A better idea than carrying passport and originals is to have notarised copies made which are acceptable.
