Default claiming back VAT on goods delivered to Spain

We are in the process of having some brand new goods delivered from the UK to our apartment in the port. One of the suppliers said we can claim the VAT back.I wondered if any members had any experience about the best way to go about this.The goods we have bought total about a couple of grand so if we can claim 400 quid back its well worth having.

Not sure if this little snippet will help at all, but found this on the web;

For VAT purposes it is physical movement of goods that is relevant, rather than the invoicing name or address. An invoice to a Spanish customer when the goods are not leaving the UK will not normally be classed as an export, and UK VAT would be chargeable. However, goods being sent to Spain on behalf of a UK customer without a Spanish VAT number are still subject to UK VAT at the usual rate (even if the customer is registered for VAT in the UK).
Labore and lollipop like this.
