Ah, Eleanor. Take pity on your husband.
According to Sparky's weather report and Fil's picture it's pretty hot around PP. http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...html#post86346

Mike! I am.... I have said he can use his bike rather than walk! lol

Then of course he can relax once sorted and watch this weeks apprentice before I issue his next task! (think i'm watching too much of the apprentice myself as it is giving me ideas! Just love the power! lol

UPDATE
The delayed launch of the new Astra satelite due to the failure of the previous Proton M rocket is now scheduled for the last week in September. This being the case it is expected that the satelite will become fully operational at the end of October.

Hi Eleanor, If it is not too late can I suggest you try pointing your remore control at the t.v. that does not work and press the source button then press it again until you come to the uk channels, If it does not work then go to your supplier but this worked on mine.

Hi Majprop thank you for your suggestion. It turned out to be a scart problem and thanks to good old Confort all is now well.

Thanks again.

A possible lifeline for those of you who will find it hard to do without your UK TV if it disappears at the end of October as suspected.
The UK Freeview service is soon to be made available online. It will not be regionally restricted in the way that the `catch up´services are but you will need a UK TV license to access it - oh and a broadband internet connection of course.

I was about to recommend Patrick Moore, but, sadly he passed away last December. Now, he really did know all about sky.

It has now been confirmed that the new Astra 2E satelite will launch on September 17th. The BBC have also confirmed that soon afterwards they will transfer their channels across from the temporary Astra 1N to the new 2E. 2E is shown on the Astra website as having the same footprint as 2F. In short this means that if you are lucky enough to be receiving Channel 5 then you will continue to receive the BBC channels when they move. No channel 5 then no BBC!

Just picked this up from the website of the launch site -
The authorities at the Baikonur launch site announced yesterday that there will be a further delay to the launch of Astra 2E. Some of the telemetry readings for the rocket's 1st stage were outside the tolerance range. At present, no revised launch date has been published but they are suggesting a delay of possibly 1 to 2 weeks.
