Default SKY DISH / FREEVIEW / BOX ETC

Need some comprehensive guides on this please. We have an apartment which we rent and also use ourselves 3 or 4 times a year. We are unsure which is the most economical and practical choice to use for getting UK programmes on TV.
I am fed up with taking over DVD's and would like bit of live action!! All suggestions welcome please!! :\

HI THERE,
THERE HAVE BEEN QUITE A FEW POSTINGS ABOUT THIS IN THE PAST IF YOU CAN FIND THEM ON THE FORUM.
WE BOUGHT A SKY RECEIVER WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE COMMUNIAL DISH FOR OUR APARTMENT BLOCK.
YOU WILL NEED A CARD WHICH CAN BE PURCHASED IN PP FOR BETWEEN 150€ AND 300€ ONE OFF PAYMENT ALL DEPENDING WHICH SHOP YOU USE AND NO SUBSCRIPTION NEEDED.
YOU CAN USE A CARD BOUGHT IN UK BUT WHATEVER YOU DO DONT ASK OR TELL SKY AS THEY ARE GET VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS AND MAY CUT YOU OFF IN UK IF THEY KNOW.
YOU WILL THEN RECEIVE BBC1, BBC 2, ITV, CHANNEL 4 ,5, ITV 2,3,4, BBC NEWS 24 SKY NEWS ETC. NO PROBLIMO.!!

There is lots on this topic in the "Communications" section of the forum.
I still think that the answer is to go to see Reus in the Port.
Their service is superb and they have all the answers.
I've told dozens of people about them, and there have been no complaints.

I hope this is useful.

Electrodomestico Reus are on Vincent Boades, no 39.
(The road with the sports centre on it.)
Reus are just down from the sports centre on the right hand side, after La Val. (going towards the road to Pollenca.)

Frito.

We have a Freeview box which was cheaper than a Sky Box & needs no subscription. When we first got it, we only had BBC, lots of news channels plus various others. This week we retuned it & found that now have over 300 free-to-air including ITV & film4 as well as BBC, news, shopping etc. Basically this is plenty for us. We now need a bigger TV. They had a load of very cheap ones at Caprabo (!) but we didn't dare risk it. Anyone ever bought a TV from Caprabo?

We bought our flatscreen TV from Alcampo and are very pleased with it, so why not Caprabo! At least its near enough to take it back. We also have the basic freeview package, but only have BBC 1,2,3,4 and ITV 1 and 3, plus news channels, radio channels, etc. Next time we're over I'll check if we have Film4. Do you also get ITV 2 and 4? If so, perhaps we need to reset ours again in view of new channels becoming Freeview.

Hi All

Will a freeview box work with a normal terrestrial Ariel or do you need a dish ?
And any recommendations as to a make or type of box and should it be a Spanish or UK one ?

Regards

Beachfun, you'll definitely need a dish. Ours is the size of Wales!
