Fortec

We would really appreciate any advive.

We have heard about the following offer

Fortec fibre broadband. The broadband is unlimited. 600Mb/60Mb is the download and upload speeds.

58.70€/month does not include the TV.

Is this a good offer?

It's okay. Fortec are just a broker though. The service comes from Tiekom. The big benefit with fortec/tiekom is that they have really good english speaking agents who respond to emails quickly....

I signed up at easter and they posted a router out which arrived 2 days later (sat) and then Camino (from Tiekom) rang at 9am monday and said the engineer was outside ready to install it. We were connected in a few days. I'm on a 50mb fibre service which is perfect for us and we're heavy users. That costs €45.90 a month.

A few weeks ago I got home to find it wasn't working and I emailed Camino at 5pm on a friday and he replied straight away saying he'd arranged a service call but I should try pressing the reset button on the router for 10s (not just turning it off/on) and hey presto we were back on line.

Their UK TV costs €25 a month (I think) but I only watch Netflix/Amazon etc usually but if I want to watch BBC then I use Hola on my laptop which is free. Meanwhile I use my google speaker to listed to BBC radio.

If you can speak spanish then Movistar Option 0 is a bit cheaper but I heard a lot of stories about people struggling to cancel their contracts.

I wandered into Fortec via a subsidiary web page called JaztellinEnglish. All the emails then came from amanda at fortec.es, then steve day and they then route you into their service provider Tiekom and thats where Camino Arias works. This all happened in a matter of hours though.

I have freesat TV and have no need for a landline, so I opted to use the ever excellent Confort (perfect English speakers) who installed IB Red. The highest speed option costs €42 a month and meets all my Email and Wi-fi needs. I can stream perfectly from Sky Q catch up and I’m very happy with it.

Just found my contract as it's still in my phone mail.

Fibre Optic up to 50mb download / 5 mb upload €66 install + €45.90 a month.

I wasn't planning to do any serious uploading but in the end I get 60/30 Mb speed anyway...

I did ask about Confort in the shop but as I live in the old town he said the service up there was rubbish and advised me to go to Movistar.

I bought a freesat TV from Confort without realising. I haven't plugged it in because they are slowly backing out of satelite TV now. French Sky no longer install dishes and the UK will stop installing dishes in the not too distant future as they push their web based service towards the end of the year
