Default Movistar Fixed Line & Broadband Problems

Working from home in the Port today was going fine until around 10.25am this morning when my broadband WiFi internet went down. I'm currently accessing the net through my Vodafone mobile data.

My broadband and phone line are provided by Movistar and I've noticed that my line doesn't have a dialling tone at the moment.

Is anyone else in the Port with Movistar having problems?

Movistar fixed my line this morning within 24 hours of reporting the fault thanks to great help from Ideal.

Very impressed with the service!

I have been having problems for over a week with my connection, it keeps going off, sometimes for just a few seconds but also for longer periods .

But i now know the reason, it's because they are in the process of laying fibre optic lines, aparently the work should be finished in a week or so and i am assured it will improve the service and give us better speed, i hope so because this is driving me crazy .

My internet started playing up again last weekend, kept going off and signal was very weak sometimes, because Monday and Tuesday were holidays we had to wait until Wednesday to go to the Movistar shop to report the problem. Yesterday at around 2pm an engineer arrived, he checked the line which was fine so he installed a new router, 20 minutes later we were back on-line and now have full signal again, once again great service from Movistar .

Excellent. Funnily enough I've just posted re the internet. Can I ask how much you pay each month and any initial set up costs etc. Is Movistar better than anyone else you've had.
Thanks Sparky.

Thanks Sparky.
I don't think there was any initial set up cost but i could be wrong (it was nearly 7 years ago ), we now pay around 50€ a month but that includes land line, unlimited internet and our mobiles. Can't compare Movistar with any others as we have always been with them and i am a believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" .
