After yet another great meal at O'Lume, we decided to take a walk and see what Hostal Paris looked like now. After a few wrong turnings ~ needed Mary as the guide really ~ we came across a very bright looking Paris in Puerto Pollensa!

Actually it's now more like Morocco in Puerto Pollensa. The refurbishment is very different. Leather chairs and Moroccan type wooden tables, many, many Moroccan style coloured glass lights everywhere throwing wonderful colours up the walls. TV still there at the front ~ England beating Moldavia at the time we were in! The dining area is at the rear now, and there may not be any more live music with this particular owner, but its not definite.
Drinks still seem to be just 1.50 euro each though!

Sam wanted to show us the newly refurbished rooms upstairs too, and they are rightfully proud of them. Very good standard for a hostal, good sizes, bright and carrying on the glass lighting throughout too.

Opening party Saturday, so pop in and take a look if you around.

I have some photos and will upload them when we get back home for those who cant get there for a while!

The hostel sounds interesting Bella. Certainly different! Thanks for posting. The drinks are a great price too. I thought perhaps they would increase so good to see they have kept them the same price.
Look forward to seeing your photos Bella

Yes it is not the easiest place to find is it Bella. Apart from the decor in the public area it doesn't sound like much has changed, the dining area always was at the rear. Never ventured upstairs so can't comment on the rooms.
Glad to hear Sam ( i assume it's the same female Sam) is still there, god i have known her for many a year and she has the most infectious laugh . Will have to pop down and see her soon.
I wish the new owners well, the "Hostal" is legendary and a much needed facility in PP.

Youngest daughter stayed there for a month while she looked for permanent accommodation when she worked in Pollensa a few years ago. Fairly basic but clean and good value. The breakfasts were good apparently when she actually got up in time for them!

I believe the main problem with the hostal which was very old plumbing has now been sorted out which is bound to help.
They used to do a fantastic deal of 50€ per person per week in winter months .

Yes it is Sparky. She is certainly a character isnt she, and very bubbly! The only thing that MAY be a problem is that they only seem to have one fan going and either no, or not very strong a/c. With all those beautiful lights on full blast - and there are lot of them - plus body heat, it could get pretty steamy! The cheap drinks will be be going down a storm though!!

Both Cheryl, the previous owners of the business ( i think they were German) were forced to give it up because of the plumbing and electrical problems which they said the owner of the building refused to help financially to get fixed.
