Default Is it busy in the Port this year?

Have been coming to the Port for many years and have never struggled so much to find accommodation. All our usual sources have drawn a blank and some of the bigger agencies want a fortune. I know the weather has been poor in the UK and the pound is better against the Euro but is it true that all the accommodation has been "snapped" up? We'll have to sleep,on the beach!

Self catering. I've had a look on this site but the dates don't work sadly. Thanks for the heads up though. It's lovely to find so many helpful people. I know I'll find something.

It may be worth contacting the owners and checking with them if the dates are a problem, they may be willing to change their letting arrangements if they still have unsold weeks, worth a try!

Hi Sparky - arrive on 10th Aug and leave 19th. None sat to sat seem to be more awkward and I understand it cuts into two weeks. I'll keep looking and thanks for your help.

I personally would say that the port is currently not as busy as previous years - I was there for the past week and had no problem finding tables free in restaurants.

I think that is due to the fact that people are saving money by eating in more than they would normally, it's good news for the supermarkets but not for the restaurants .

Try giving Villaparade a call. They often have odd duration availability, and whilst you may need to change villas, due to cutting into two weeks, I'm sure that they may be able to help.

Have you considered a couple of nights in a hotel to make your 9 nights into a week long let? We have had to do this when we come back in September

I'm very surprised that people are having problems with finding accommodation. I have two friends both advertising on this site one with a villa the other a two bedroom apartment who both have availability in August and Septmber. If it is the companies booked up then I would suggest looking on this site at last minute deals from private owners,
Great you have both found somewhere and enjoy your holiday.
