Question Distance from Gotmar

I made an enquiry about a lovely apartment and got this reply.

Thanks for your enquiry. Our apartment is in Gotmar which is just beside
LLenaire, but is closer to the marina than Llenaire etc!

But I always imagined that Gotmar was quite a distance from the port.

How long do you reckon it would take to walk from Gotmar into PP?

Thanks

Hi Rosie .If you walk without stopping at shops as my wonderful other half likes to do ,it takes no more than twentyfive minutes.

Rosie Our villa is in Gommar and it takes us 15 minutes max. to walk to the centre of town along the road to Eroski. We have timed it! I am not a very fast walker! Obviously it depends how quickly you walk. Another way we like to walk is to cross the new road and walk through Pinaret to the beach which is about the same distance in time. This is a lovely walk as you have the wonderful view of the Bay. Plus the selection of little shops and bars on route. My brother is in Llenaire and the walk is much longer for him. Therefore I would say Gommar is closer to the centre than Llenaire. It would depend where in Gommar and where in Llenaire I suppose.

Hi eleanor, good to see you back! Yes I have to agree with your last sentence as both Gotmar and Llenaire tend to spread a bit and the only way to make sure of times and distances is to check with the owners of the apartments in either area.

Thanks Bella. Nice to have a break sometimes just what the doctor ordered. Much needed as can now see things much clearer!

Lollipop - I love to walk via Pinaret not only for the view of the Bay but also the smell of the trees around the Gommar/Pinaret area. Not so direct but much more appealing in my opinion.

Sorry I refer to Gotmar as Gommar. I understand it's a language distinction but force of habit! Have owned there for ten years and still confused which is which!

Am I correct? Gotmar = Catalan Gommar = Spanish

Yes Eleanor you are correct, i remember a few years ago asking a local where Gommar ended and Gotmar started, he just laughed, winked and said they are both the same area.

LOL Sparky! I can understand why, as the names although similar are different so it does sound like 2 different places - confusing!
Lol if I can have a villa for 10 years in the area and still forget which is which then how silly and I? I really must remember to use Gotmar.
I'm sure the sign near the Hideaway restaurant has both names and spellings on it. I must remember to have a look next time we are out.
Back to thread - Gotmar / Gommar is very assessable and easy to walk to both the centre of town, the beaches, restaurants and supermarkets.

Our place is half way between Gotmar and the Eroski on the main road and it takes us 10 mins to walk into the port

Yep - 15 minute brisk walk or 20 minute stroll into centre of port or down to Tamarells beach.

We normally stop off at either Aries bar or the Rosa Blanca bar - both by the Habitat roundabout - for some alcoholic fuel to get us into the port and also nice for a night cap on the way back
