Nicola,

congratulations on your purchase. You should be able to let it out easily for several weeks during the year. We purchased our apartment in Dec 2001, advertised it on www.puertopollensa.com and let it out for 31 weeks plus used it ourselves for 4 weeks. Nearly all of our rentals came via the web site. We did try some of the more general web sites specialising in holiday rentals but had very few enquiries.

Have a look at www.puertopollensa.com/Pr...ml#private to see the apartments & villas currently advertised and then visit www.puertopollensa.com/Advertise.html to find out about advertising. As you'll see we now have over 40 different properties and all advertisers have been pleased with the response & have renewed for a second year.

The prices have rocketed over the last few years. We paid £70,000 for a 2 bed apartment in Llenaire three years ago. An estate agent friend of ours there now says it will sell for about £110,000. Our neighbours sold one the same as ours but with a small garden for £117,000

If you want to buy, my advise would be do your homework, but don't delay too long.

Good luck

Default Re: Buying Property

To get an idea of property prices have a look at the web sites of the various agents on the Property Page: www.puertopollensa.com/propforsale.html Several of them give prices. Do be aware that you will spend about 9% on taxes & fees etc. - much higher than in the UK.

There are also several useful books listed including Buying a Home in Spain.

Good Luck.

Please be aware that this is a general discussion forum and that we cannot permit advertisements of accommodation. Current advertisements can be viewed at www.puertopollensa.com/PrivateVillas.html and potential advertisers can advertise via www.puertopollensa.com/Advertise.html
