Hi there Brad!

I stayed in the Capri over 10 years ago so hopefully someone with more recent experience can comment.

But for what it is worth - the staff and service were very good then. It was very clean and the breakfasts were good. It was a little tired looking then but it was really cheap and defo great value for money. I think it has recently been done up - I certainly noticed a new facade and 'poshed up' terrace this year.

Only real negative was that the year we were there it was unbelievably hot weather and we had a room to the rear so it got plenty of afternoon sunshine (nice mountain view from the balcony) but no air con. They gave us a fan but seriously - I think it was one of the hottest rooms I have ever stayed in. On a postive note the skinny dipping went some way to cooling us down - oo-er!!! :o;):D

I recall that we also had a mozzie problem in the room - whether from the air duct in the bathroom or external we never could tell but hubby was a clearly a tasty mozzie feast. I didn't have a bite though - maybe they don't like salt water! ;) I think it was a "bad mozzie year"

Hi Brad,

I stayed there about 7 years ago. My views are similar to lala to be honest - good hotel, superb location but no air con!!!!! We stayed july/august and it was boiling. Otherwise breakfast was good, brilliant to be able to sit on pine walk and the reception was excellent he knew the room number and had the key ready before you got through the front door! Basically good value for such a central location.

I think the Capri has changed hands this year. I popped in a few weeks ago. I think they've done up the front & the cafe/restaurant but as I remember they haven't done the rooms yet but were hoping to next year.
