Default Villas in Siller Area

Hi there

Just wondering if anyone can give me any info. on the Siller area. Noticed quite a few villas are situated there and the distances that are quoted are anything from a 15 min to 30 min walk to beach etc. Been in villas before that have given distances/times and they have ended up being unrealistic. Wanting to go next year with a toddler and don't want a massive walk.

Also have posted this as a reply because I couldn't see how to add a new post. If anyone can help me out here that would be great. Have tried to add a new thread but didn't seem to be able to do that either.

Cheers

Stayed at the back of Siller in 2001 - getting on for 30 minutes to the beach seems about right - longer with a toddler.

Many of the villa companies and private owners give latitude/longitude or Google Earth references for the property so you can see exactly where it is.

They are the Pollensa side of the new road, if that helps.

Most of the villas in the Siller area are a pretty good trek from the town, some more than others. With really tiny tots a car is pretty well essential, I would have thought.

The other consideration with the Siller area is that the villas are very close to the mountains and, as a consequence, you do lose the evening sun quite early.

We stayed in that area one year but, to be honest, it was just a bit too far out and we lost the sun too early for my liking.

We've found a really great villa just a ten minute stroll from the town centre -and we've booked our fourth visit for June 2009.

While our kids were small, we tended to stay in villas out in the country, between the port and Pollensa old town, and barbeque and eat al fresco. Of course as they got older, a bit more night life was required - hence the villas closer to the port.

Thanks for that. Can anyone recommend a nice villa with pool and garden that's fairly central? 10/15 min walk to shops, bars and restaurants would be okay.

Cheers

In terms of value for money the Siller compromise is not bad. We rented a villa there last year when the little chipper was only 4 months old and we could get to Pine Walk and the beach in 20 mins even with a buggy.

For good value nearer the beach we found Llenaire handy earlier this year - easy access to the front and a few decent restaurants including the relocated Tango.

Anything more central - villa wise - is either going to cost a fortune or be smaller. We have had some lovely apartments on the front in the past, buit then you lose a pool.......

Anyway, the choosing is half the fun!

Hi there

Who did you book your villa through? Any particular villa you can recommend?

Thanks

Thumbs up

We've used Villa Select for the last couple of years and been very pleased.

We return to the Siller property tomorrow - it's a lovely little secluded place.

Earlier this year went with the elder spuds to a larger villa in Llenaire that was frankly pretty special.

I have sent you a Private Message cat1 (my technological shortcomings permitting) which will hopefully equip you with the details of the two properties.

We've stayed in 3 villas in Siller & 2 in Llenaire. All were good. Siller is walkable even from the farthest villas like C'an Coll. We had grandparents and a buggy with us and it was 30 minutes at an easy pace - hot in the mid day sun though & dark on the way back, but taxis are plentiful and easy to get - they know where all the villas are - and they're cheap too. The advantage of Llenaire is that you can walk to a restaurant in 5 mins or so and the beach ofcourse. Both areas have their advantages.
