Default Maricel Apartments

I also got brochure from Travel Club of Upminster (presumably because we booked through them last year) but it had no prices in it.
I am trying to find out if it is quiet at Maricel apts (ie no street noise or music from bars at night), have you stayed there before and can you tell me anything about it and make any suggestions or reccomendations?
Thank you
Anna

Hi

We are booked to go to Maricel this summer we have not stayed there before however they look nice in brochure and from the formentor road , we had a good look from the outside last summer they appear very secure as the entrance is locked and obviously only people staying there have access on peeking throught the entrance door the hallway looked very nice and you could see a part of the pool area which also looked very nice. The travel club charge quite a significant supplement for a pool view which i am sure would be nice however does not look onto anything so we thought at night would be quite boring we have opted for a street view as we like to sit out with bottle of wine at night think the street view will be quite interesting people watching. I am not that concerned about noise as the new bypass at back of town has taken a lot of traffic off the Formentor road and there are not that many bars immediatly beside the Maricel ,It is directly opposite back of the Miramar hotel. I think they may be a hidden secret as there are no reviews on the usual websites ie trip advisor , holidaysuncovered etc. Anyway we will keep our fingers crossed and hope they are ok.

Thumbs up

Hiya,

We stayed on the Formentor road years ago ( Hostal Calma) pre-by-pass and loved the balcony at nite, overseeing life going by.
In Scotland, we live in an isolated farm but we didn't find the nitelife noisey, it was the bin lorries that we heard but that is 'an over and done with thing'... and not going on and on.

Whatever u decide, Im sure u will have a lovely time

Miriam

Thanks for replies, BUT... having spoken to holidaymakers at both Daina and Sis Pins hotels, they say Formentor Road is noisy at night from Irish Bar (I think it is Mulligans opposite what was Tango), my daughter's children are extremely noise sensitive and as I have recommended PP as superb place for their 1st Majorca holiday, would hate them to complain about noise at night. So while very grateful for replies...can anyone assure me Maricell apartments would be peaceful from say around 10pm? Thank you!

Hi,

Opposite the Maricell apartments is JK's bar, which is family run, they usually close the windows and doors at 11pm, and are fully closed by midnight (or a little after), so noise shouldn't be a problem there.

As for Mulligans they are quiet a bit further down the road, so again noise shouldn't be a problem from Mulligans.

BUT do watch out for the bin men!!! usually at 2am for normal rubbish and then 5am for the bottles!!!

Thanks for that, it's exactly what I wanted to know, we'll find them somewhere quieter along near Ila d'Or.

Default Noise at night

The further out of town you go the quieter it gets, but you cannot avoid the binmen!!!. Fortunately they come and importantly go!!!

Some of the residential areas have centralised bin locations, with some streets therefore quieter than others.

Other areas, eg towards Boquer the Flora etc is quiet but does get coaches picking up and delivering holiday makers.

The Pinaret area in the opposite direction to Ila D'or can be quiet, but if the apartment is near Villa Concha it can suffer from coaches picking up and delivering holiday makers.

The Gotmar area can be quiet, now especially the new one way systems and new road are open. Again there are one or two drop off points for holidaymakers eg near the Hidaway, the Leo apartments etc.

Siller I would imagine would be very quiet, however it depends on how noisy the Habitat and Duva complexes are.

Further away again, Llenaire will be quiet.

But no matter where you are the bins have to be emptied, it just depends how far away from your apartment they are.

Good luck, hopefully the children will be so exhausted after enjoying what PP has to offer they will sleep through.
