Llenaire - little information if possible please
Hello all,
We visited Peurto Pollensa last year with our 3 YO twins and stayed in the Aparthotel playa mar. We loved the area, but the hotel left a lot to be desired....
Anyway, this year we have decided to look at renting a villa/ apartment and have been looking at a lot of the properties on this site and others.
We really liked the Pinewalk beach but apartments in that area are pricey, for good reason I suppose. We have been looking at some in the Llenaire area and they seem to be much more reasonably priced (for what you get). We did not really visit this area last year so would love some feedback on the beach, restaurants and the area in general please. Also, how long would you estimate it would take to walk to the pinewalk area, say to the Corb Mari restaurant?
Finaly..... If anyone has any reccomendations of good apartments in that area we would love to hear them
Thanks in advance for any information you can give. It will realy be appreciated.

Hi Hoggy,
I have to say I am biased, we have been coming to PP since 1976 and have stayed in a number of areas, about 11 years ago we stayed in the Llenaire area for the first time and have gone back ever since, when we bought our apartment 6/7 years ago we chose that area.
The beach is lovely, plenty of sunbeds plus space to run around.
The walk to the roundabout in the town will take about 20 minutes, then another 10 minutes to the Corb Mari.

We also chose to buy our apartment in Llenaire as we love the tranquility and space around there. There are a couple of good restaurants such as Tango and Restaurant Llenaire there plus a Spar for milk when you run short ( although it is very expensive ! )The beach is never really busy even in August . The walk into town is lovely, a straight, flat walk along the beach front. There are a couple of nice hotels etc along the way if you need to stop and have a drink. I think you will really enjoy staying in the LLenaire area. I m not sure what the Bahia Pollensa apartments are like but they are in the area and look very nice. They seem to be child friendly and provide entertainment in the day and evening. We can usually hear the bands playing when we sit on our balcony. The music always finishes around 11.30 ish as it is also a residential area with lots of locals needing their sleep! Hope this helps a little.

There is also the Tamarells beach area which is only a 10 minute walk towards the port. You have the beach bar and across the road is El Ancla and if you turn up beside the Pollensa Park hotel there is a good selection of supermarkets, bars and restaurants including The Golden Lion, Ikebana, Palms and Cafe Bon Dia.

We have taken the plunge and we have booked an appartment in the area, extremley near the Bahia Pollensa (easy walk to some free evening entertainment now and again.....).
I have another question, if I may.
Do any of you have any experiance of car hire companies that you could reccomend? I normaly use Avis but would love to know of any other companies that come highly reccomened.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi hoggy
It may be better for you to post your question about car hire in the relevant section of the forum. It's also a good idea to read through all the posts as there are lots of recommendations and reviews of the car hire companies.

Not fussy, hoggy, just trying to help people find as much information as they can and by posting questions in the relevant sections, they tend to find it more easily.
Also, there's a wealth of information on here and many questions can be answered just by reading the posts...

We stay in Pinaret close to Llinaire just like to add Sparrow bar to Sparky's list (behind Panorama beach hotel). Would say it used to take about 20 mins with the kids to walk along to the port, about same distance as you from Playa Mar. The beach area is great feel at ease with kids as never seems too busy, area nice because you can have it quiet or walk to port sometimes used to taxi back. Have a great time. Sparky is El Ancla the snack bar next to Hotel Romantica?

Hoggy, you'll love the Llenaire area...we've been doing this for around 8 years now.
Much more relaxing than the hustle and bustle of the Port, but a bit of a stroll with the wee ones (our youngest was 3 when we first started going too!).
You won;t be the first to walk your kids along the wall and help them 'fly' acorss the gaps!!
Have a wonderful holiday!!

I am staying Llenaire this year with my family, late July early August. Best car hire deals I have found have been Avis and Do You Spain.

A tip. We also have our apartment close to the Bahia and have found the little shop they have downstairs that sells the basics plus a few other bits and pieces. For us, its a bit closer than the Spa shop.

And El Ancla prices are very reasonable with measures that equal Bony's.
