villa location in pollensa

please can anyone help me with this problem, we are thinking of booking a villa which is in Pollensa.

The only details that we can get so far is Den Rasca, PM220, Puerto Pollensa, Majorca.

can anyone give me an idea where this could be in Pollensa.

Who is the property with?
Is there any more information on their web-site?

The PM 220 is the main road from Pollensa into the Port of Pollensa.
There are a lot of very nice properties situated off this road on either side.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. We need a bit more information.

Has anyone else stayed there or knows the property?

Over the years we've rented loads of villas in the PP area. As Frito says, more info please. Are you using a rental company? If so which one?

A property called Villa Bandera de Riba is for sale at 2.2 millon euros.

There are details there including location. It apprears to be close to Pollensa and Pollensa Golf.

If this is the place you are looking to rent....WOW!

BUT....

On the James Villas site there is Villa Bandera, with the following location

Local amenities Distance to Puerto Pollensa 3.4km
Nearest Restaurant / Cafe 0.5km
Nearest Bar 0.5km
Nearest Beach 3.4km
Nearest Mini/Supermarket 0.7km

Bandera is situated within Pollensa in Mallorca
Pollensa is 1 hr from Palma Airport

I assume that this is the property!

Has anyone stayed there or know exactly where the property is?

If you email James Villas they should be able to pinpoint it on a Multimap download for you - or give you the Google Earth co-ordinates.

Hi again, its not the one for sale its the other one but James villas dont give out the exact location until you book with them and then only 14 days before you travel.

So we still dont know where it is.

Is it really important that you need to know where it is?

We've booked many villas (four with James Villas) and they have all been within a short driving distance of the port or the old town. I think a car would be essential wherever it is.

The farthest away was a villa booked through this website which was closer to Alcudia, but it still wasn't far to travel to the resort.

I sympathise - you're between a rock & hard place. I'd also want to know exactly where I was staying.

Seems like you either have to take the place (knowing that it's either on the main road to the Port (or just off) .... or look to book with someone else who will tell you where it is (many other villa booking companies and individuals with properties to rent do indeed include precise maps or co-ordinates on their websites - we've discounted everyone who didnt).

I do know with certainty that James Villas do not have any villas actually IN the port (which is our usual criteria nowadays).

They are a firm with a good reputation though.

Do let us all know where it was, and how it was, when you get back.

Thanks everyone for all the help you have given, I will certainly leave an update and full review when we get back. There seems to be a distinct lack of information everywhere when it comes to James Villas. I should point out that we used them in Portugal and found them to be excellent but I have my reasons for wanting to know the location in Majorca.

I'm going to take a stab at this.....it's like solving a "whodunnit"!

I've looked at the James Villas website and pictures of Villa Bendera and, from the distances to PP, bars and supermarkets I would guess that this villa is siuated in open country to the south of Pollensa old town, to the left of the main road as you approach Pollensa. That would more or less fit with the distances shown.

Do we have any other sleuths out there who think differently?

I must admit that I'm surprised that James Villas don't show a map on their website. As someone who prefers bars within walking (not driving) distance, I personally wouldn't be keen to rent if I didn't know the exact location too.

It looks a pretty nice villa though - enjoy!

we have stayed in that area for the last 2 years and this year have got villa from the same co we've used each time. the distances and pictures are bang on in line with the suggestion from disorderly previous. You are on the right/left of the road past Euroski,past turning to CSV and L'aup, and on about 1km and turn left/right before you get to built up area of PP...that's exactly where we are this year....9-23 Aug. Book it and we'll see you there and I'm buying first round in the plaza major in pollenca....we sit at cafe columbus!!!! Cheers
