Default Daina Hotel

Just thought I would share my experience of the Daina Hotel which we stayed in for 8 days ,got back last Sunday.

We normally go to the Sis Pins but this was fully booked so decided on the Daina as second choice.

On booking I had asked for an upper floor room and we were allocated 604 so I was a happy woman. The room itself was on the small side but had been refurbished ,all creams and light mushroom colour on one wall. New bathroom with a great shower ,not much storage space but enough hangers for me,hubby alloacted his usual three .

This was a side sea view but when we stepped onto the terrace (not a balcony as we were at the top ) I was blown away with the view .At least a three quarters sea view starting from La Lonja restuarant all the way along to the curve of the bay, directly in front was the tops of the roofs with the mountains in the distance and turning just a little to the right the square and the church . Marvellous. The terrace had a sofa a coffee and two full sized sun loungers with mattresses . There was an electronic awning for shade, and this was needed around three o'clock or you would have melted .
I will try and post some pictures later.

The hotel was very well run and breakfast was the usual affair with cold meats and cheese ,lots of fruit and bread and full english breakfast if you wanted it.My bugbear was ,no at table service for tea and coffee which you had to fetch for yourself and the size of cups meant quite a few journeys to the tea and coffee area. I am making a direct comparison with Sis Pins here as it is nice to have a wee tea pot on request . However we did get a table outside on the first floor balcony so no complaints there.

We had a fridge in our room (remember ours was an upgraded room) but others in the hotel did not I checked the literature handed to me on arrival and it seems you have to hire a fridge ! My god I found that really strange and we were not charged any extra. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room ,again you could hire a kettle !We were not charged extra for the fridge.

We had one lunch time meal at the Daina, carbonara for me and bolognaise for hubby . Don't waste your money go to Don Corleone's next door much better.

So would I return ,yes probabaly if I could be guaranteed a top floor room .And the swimming pool area is nice .They just have to sort out the other issues and this would have got top marks.
