Default Las velas apartments

Hello
I am thinking of booking the las velas apartments in June. Has anyone stayed there recently and if so what did you think?. Is it suitable for young children (ours are 7 and 3 years old). Also wondered if anyone knows if it near construction/roadworks? Thanks

Default Las Velas Apts

Stayed there a couple of years ago. Quite quiet, so if you are looking for entertainment to keep the youngsters amused you are looking in the wrong place. No bar / restaurant either, so its very much like private apartments rather than an aparthotel.

Other than that I would say it was suitable for kids. Two pools, one (at the front) mainly used by kids / families; the one to the rear by adults.

The main problem will be that, as far as I am aware, the roadworks for the by-pass are right outside the front door. From recollection there is to be a roundabout close by, and unless the road is finished I suspect that you will have a bit of an unsightly mess outside the entrance.

Hope this helps,

allanglens

Hi
We stayed in the Las Velas Apartments last summer and had a great holiday we have been to Puerto Pollensa many times and the Las Velas are one of the nicest apartments we have ever stayed in. Furniture a little dated however spotlessly clean and lovely pool areas and gardens , and the best bit no matter what time of day you go down to the pool it is always reasonably quiet and plenty of free sunbeds even in July when we were there , i think this is probably because there are only 28 apts. Thick fluffy towels changed every day. The staff are exceptional so friendly and full of local knowledge , although there is no bar on site the reception sells icecreams , juice , beer and fresh bread each morning however three very well stocked supermarkets within two minute walk. Last year thy were constructing a new bypass road near the apts and apparantlythe road will go by the Las Velas but it should be finished by now. I hope the road does not spoil the wonderful peace and tranquility but there was a road there anyway. The apts are about a 15min walk from centre of Puerto Pollensa but no problem as it is along the lovely promenade with lots of lovely bars/restaurants along the way and if you are tired you can get a taxi back no problem. Anyway the apts were so good we are going back again this July.
Hope this helps anyway you can always check reviews on tripadvisor and holidaysuncovered where you will find that the Las Velas get excellent reports.
