Me and my husband are holidaying in puerto pollensa in july,we are staying at the hotel Uyal.Just wondering if anybody has stayed there and which are the best rooms to have for a nice view.
Also how far is it to walk to the center of the town.

We stayed there last August. We had a room in the annexe just next door with a fabulous view over the bay, the only hassle being initially we only had the one key to the main door (later I asked for a second key and it was no trouble) but the room was OK and probably more quiet than in the main hotel. Food was fine with good breakfasts (take breakfast outside into the open air, it's great) and a choice of dishes freshly cooked on an evening. It's buffet service and the staff clear away dishes as soon as you finish, a bit too soon sometimes! I speak Spanish so got on well with the staff although they seem a bit reserved compared to our usual friends in Ibiza! The main town is a matter of 10 mins walk away and there's a small supermarket about 30m down the road for water etc. There's entertaiment a couple of times a week (the usual Flamencao etc) and all in all it's a good, clean hotel with no pretensions. Hope you enjoy your stay and don't be scared to take a few bus trips to Palma etc. instead of the organised affairs. I can thoroughly recommend the bus to Palma, then the train to Sóller and back by bus. Takes a while but great fun.
