Default 2008 Villa Price Hike

Having just returned from 2 weeks in Pollensa, I am looking at booking for 2008 however the villa prices have increased by 400e per week over this year (not booked through this website I must add)

Is this a common increase from 2007-2008 or am I just unlucky?

Seems hard to justify such a large increase.

Who are you looking to book with?

We received a shock when we had to start booking our breaks during school holidays and saw the prices of villas. We've used James Villas in the past and this year booked with Villa Plus. Both companies are very professional and we just have to save up, forget the price and think of the enjoyment we get from having a "home from home" with all the privacy and freedom it brings.

Having said that a 400 euro increase does seem a lot...

Villaparade are not exactly cheap either in the summer months - around £1,500 a week but this includes car hire and their villas are lovely.

You could save some money booking directly with the owner. This site has some lovely villas/ apartments - with the plus point being you can book by areas (south, sandy beach, central marina area or Pine Walk) so you can choose the area you want to say in. Look in the margin on the left of this screen.

Hello there. Is this increase only for thevilla rental or for a whole package?? As someone who works in the field I can advise that most owners have accepted between 5 - 15% increases for 2008. Is the villa offering anything new - air conditioning or pool heating for example?? Was it maybe underpriced or an offer price this year and this is the full brochure price?? Have you checked the prices of other similar houses to see if the price seems to be in line with other properties - if not then I would suggest that there are plenty of other properties around and you should book elsewhere. Unfortuantley, some local agents have been offering big money to some owners which has done a lot of damage to the market - they then have very high prices in high season and silly prices in low season to recuperate the full cost over the season.
At the end of the day you know whether the price is within your bracket and whether you feel the villa is worth that amount. Have you actually asked the company why there is such a big increase?? I would be interested to know what you find out - good luck.
