Default Hotel Residentia Sis Pins

A wee gem of a hotel right on the Pine Walk in a perfect location. This was our 4th stay at the Sis Pins and Globespan continue to make little improvements which only make things better.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable Spanish furnishings, generous breakfasts (including yummy cooked options) friendly, helpful staff. What more can I say? We think it's perfect.

High point - Antonia on the front desk allocating us the same room as last year with fabulous views of the bay. NOT telling you the room number - its ALL MINE!!

Low Point - coming home!

Actually only critisim I have is about the other guests! The hotel does attract older guests and not being 18 myself I am not complaining about older people per se as I will of course eventually be one....and I will turn a blind eye/ ear at their wild shannanigans such as midnight paddles and raucous laughter running upstairs in the wee hours of ...well as late as 1.15 one night tsk tsk... BUT it's the sunbeds you see. >:

These densiens of orange tans and "man trunks" are up at 6.15am limping down to place their ancient floral beach towels on the sunbeds in a display of Germanic nuttiness not seen since circa 1982.

The towels lie there all day regardless of whether the crumblies do themselves and said OAPs have even been observed "bagging" a parasol too by hanging a towel on this! :lol

Aparantly the view is also reservable as we discovered by pulling an abandoned bed into a space in front of a blue rinser one day and facing her wrath (well excessive tutting and dirty looks anyway.)

The hotel try their best inluding signage on the terrace (think someone threw a towel over it) and a note in the welcome letter to no avail. My advice - either get up early and bag you own or try and find a bit of sand somewhere - there is a fair bit you now! Or like us - have a week in a villa first and then you won't mind!

Any Sis Pins Crumblies reading this - SHAME on you!

Lala, It is indeed a lovely hotel, i've never actualy stayed there, but pass the hotel every night when i'm on holiday.

The eternal problem of the "reserved" sunbeds. Do what i do, it's pretty obvious which ones they are, just take the towel off, fold it and place on the ground then simply lie on it. Why should you lie on the sand or pay on the beach because some moron can't be bothered to get out of bed until mid-day. We're not talking a few there's a army of them. I'm usually along the front around 08.30. You wouldn't believe the amount of towels around without a body attached. Come on bed horders stop being so selfish.

I was there in 2005. It was a fine hotel. Most of the guests, however, were either contemplating their mortality or searching for their false teeth. Seems like things haven't changed in the last few years.
