photo of PP on website
I posted a while ago about the picture of the tree on the homepage of the old website not doing the port justice.Personally I don't think the pic. on the new homepage is any improvement especially as there are so many fabulous pictures of the port to choose from. If I had never visited PP before the current picture wouldn't inspire me to visit.
This is just my own personal opinion. Great website by the way !!!" |
Thanks for the kind comments about the website. Unfortunately it is not so easy to find the right photo that is copyright free and available to place on a website. particularly at the time when we were rushing to implement the upgraded version of the site at a time that was relatively quiet and allowed time for testing etc.
I will look for a more inspiring one (that doesn't cost a massive amount ) when I get the opportunity. January is a very busy month so it may have to wait a little while. :) |
The picture does look like a little bit like magaluf apart from the mountains in the background.:o
http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/x...om-Capture.png The James villas advert picture looks better and if the adverts are better than the content that's not really very good for a website. ( sorry if I am being too critical) Pictures sell products as they say :) How about if we have a thread in the forum where members can offer a picture for the homepage, making it clear that no money is paid so no costs to the forum. The picture is a bit too small at 250 pixels so how about something around 800 pixels across the top. Change the picture every month or so or have a flash 'slider' that displays a few different pictures and change them all occasionally. Easily done for free apart from a little bit of time, which I know it not easy when you are busy and its all work.. |

I totally agree that the photo on the front website page is not very inspiring and doesn't do justice to a fabulously informative site.
Baron your pic is stunning! I too would happily troll through the thousands I have taken over the years to offer for free. A rolling slide show would certainly attract attention, including some of the wonderful dawn/sunset pics that members have posted links to/included in posts. Maybe we can all contribute??? Keep up the good work Zelda. Thank you for all your hard work, it is certainly appreciated! |
Thanks Overthehill.
