And one of the Rottenbach ones is flying and the other 2 are stretching their wings and trying to pluck up courage!

I was watching the Rottenbach nest yesterday when two of the chicks took off, it was lovely to watch them building up their courage. The one left behind was looking so eager to try but was really just jumping up and flapping wings. When I checked later, all three chicks were being fed by mum. Just wonderful to watch...

With the flying junior strutting through the nest and daring its siblings to come flying.

Röttenbach cam must have shifted during the recent thunderstorms. Slightly different angle now.

I much prefer this view but it was interesting to see what is underneath the nest!

Hi Rosie, it's hard to describe . It's like a large grey mortar board with a pillar on each corner and another 'mortar board' on top.
I have always imagined it just being a pole with perhaps a wee metal support on top!
If you Google the nest and look on images, there is a picture there.
