I’ve got a feeling something has happened to the male stork as I’ve just looked and it’s not in the nest with the female. Normally it always there at night time. That could explain why the female killed or chucked one baby out of the nest as that’s what they do when the food supply has gone! Hope I’m wrong

Debz, he made a brief visit early this evening, it looked like they had a bit of a domestic and he scarpered again, i think he has a bit on the side or maybe they are just observing social distancing rules .

I think the male stork has definitely left home!
Been watching on and off all day ( lockdown cabin fever) and no sign of him. Haven’t seen her leave the nest either so goodness knows what’s happening about food! I know it’s nature but I don’t like it when it goes wrong

Debz,

Have you been looking at the other stork webcam - I can't quite see but think they have maybe 4 0r 5 chicks.

https://livecam-pro.com/hoechstadt-rathaus.html

Not sure if the link will work but it is the livecam Storchennest Höschstadt.

I'm pleased to say I saw the father early this morning (4.30am)As soon as he flew in, the mother took off. He brought food for the 3 chicks. So sad about the other 2. They looked so strong as well. I hate to think they were eaten by siblings!

Thank goodness for a ‘night owl’ keeping watch! I thought I stayed up late especially now with lockdown anxiety. I’ll sleep easy tonight knowing ‘dad’ is still around and I’m glad ‘mum’ got time off. It was strange the 4th and 5th chicks just disappeared although I’m glad I didn’t see how they met their demise
