Default Prices of flights

Hi All,

I know this post may be contentious but I think there is a lot of nonsense about the cost of flights on the forum.

Having been a very regular visitor to PP for the past 15 years I still don't think it's not bad value for money. Certainly when Go/easyjet/Air Berlin/Ryanair came along the prices did drop for a while but have these have now reached the market leave. Every flight wherever you go now costs on avearge 40-50% more than back then.

Also the I think the living costs in the port have increased, especially since the introduction of the Euro which probably also had a direct affect on the cost of flights.

All in all I will still pay to go to one of the most tranquil and welcoming places in Europe.

........nothing contentious there Manda, it is one of the the most welcoming and tranquil places in Europe, if not the world.

Considering the rise in fuel prices I am very pleased with 480 pounds for 4 return (including 2 hold baggage) with EJ from Manchester to Palma, smack bang in the middle of the summer holidays. Still great prices to be had but you have to act sharpish when flights are first released.

As for the Eurozone..........we could be here for hours but fair to say most things in most countries seemed more expensive overnight once it was introduced.

Wow - £480 for 4 inc hold luggage in summer Have paid nearly that for flights for 2 with luggage (J2) for next May and thought I was 'acting sharpish'

As I said, I'll get over it when we are soaking up the PP magic

I know Rosie, I got the mail from easyjet at midnight last September (I think) saying they were taking 2012 summer bookings, had it booked within a few minutes! The prices then went steadily up over the next few days. (hope it doesn't sound too much like a brag!! I used to hate it in the bad old days of packages when you found out on the transfer coach you had paid twice as much as someone else for the same holiday!)
