Default New Route to Palma from GLA

Good news on the flights front for all those close to Glasgow. Jet2 have just announced new routes to Palma. More competition for Mr O'Leary and sleazyjet can only be good.

Adios

Star

Sorry but I just checked the website. Flights don't start till 28 March. From mid May to end of Sep there are 5 flights a week. Prices start at £39.99 plus tax, plus baggage etc....

The central belt is not well served during the winter months for direct flights. You will probably have to go indirect. The flight costs are not a lot more ( although taxes and fees can add up considerably) but the travel time and added risk of missing a connection are a pain.

Adios

Dave

Thumbs down

Just had a look at the prices for July and October next year. Hopefully it will still be cheaper for us to travel to Newcastle and fly from there. Why oh why are we Scots penalised with horrendously expensive flights? We need to boycott them!!!!

I think we have been spoilt over the last few winters with Globespan (oh how i miss them) and then last year Ryanair doing a weekly service.

I am surprised though that so far I cannot find even one direct flight weekly from Glasgow or Edinburgh as the 2 winter flights we used last year were very busy.

The problem with flying indirect is I have to take luggage as have a little one so hand luggage just dies not work for me so means double baggage charge.

Oh well maybe will just need to be next summer for me.

Just had a look at jet2 and people give Ryanair a hard time?? Something like 50 odd quid tax:confused +++ Not competitive, just another option. Maybe we've been spoiled recently, but if Ryanair, Easyjet,Globespan couldn't fill their planes with cheaper prices, what chance have this crowd got? I see trouble ahead.
