Default Airlines

We have found the choice very limited this winter from the North West - only BMI Baby from Manchester and Easyjet from Liverpool. Roll on April when we have got a couple more operators to compare - Monarch from Manchester and Ryanair from Liverpool.

It's no wonder the Majorcan resorts suffer in the winter time if people find it difficult to get there.

I have to agree Whaley, It would be great if people in the SW could get flights from Exeter but there is nothing from end October until March/ April.

I agree with you. I love PP off season most of all and we have no flights from here in Northern Ireland or even Dublin at these times. We always travel FLY BMI via Heathrow, but it means a full day of travelling each way which really eats into a short break, but I suppose the demand is not there. Sometimes we have to stay at an airport hotel overnight as there are no connecting flights from Belfast. I suppose better this than not travelling at all. April cannot come soon enough.TT

We are fortunate to live within an hour from most of the london airports and although we do have more choice even for us the schedule for winter is limited. Another route we have taken is to fly via Barcelona on one occasion we had a through ticket with iberia and on the other occasion stayed overnight in Barcelona before continuing home to city airport. There are several flights a day with clickair from Palma to Barcelona and vice versa and the price was very reasonable.

I have considered stopping off at Barcelona, there is so much to see and do there you could make it part of your holiday. My only problem is that I love PP so much I never want to leave, when hubby retires and we have more time we will definately give it a try.
