Ryanair

Not sure if this has been said before but i have booked a flight for a short trip with Ryanair which in total came to £50 return!!!! what a deal i thought until you get your e-mail to confirm and there is a charge for paying by credit card of £5 each both ways adding another £50 to the cost and at no point during the booking did it state this. So i then went looking on the website for the fees and found that at the moment they have an offer on of no fees for Electron cards. Just thought i would make you aware of this and check the fees before using your cards.

Ranger1 - I sympathise - it is tantamount to robbery. Their cost for a credit card charge on £50 worth of flights would be no more than £1 - probably nearer to 50p. How can they get away with it?

Trouble is if we boycotted the cheap airtlines we would be the ones who paid more in the short term.

Just looking at flights for August, Ryanair are reducing their prices by as much as 25%, 2 adults on a Saturday excluding baggage but including priority boarding £430

These credit card transation charges absolutely infuriate me - what a ripoff!

I run an insurance broking busines and the cost to us to accept credit cards is just 1.34% per transaction (and £0.20p per debit card). So these airlines are taking the proverbial big time.

Beware......if they cancel a flight (as BMI Baby have now done to me twice) they give you the flight cost back and say you are not entitled to the credit card charges (£7-00 per person with BMI Baby - for one single transaction! My company makes a £1-00 charge PER TRANSACTION). Twice I've challenged BMI and got my charges back, but I wonder how many people don't bother? I won't fly with them again.

Of the cheepies, only EasyJet have an unblemished record of never ever letting me down over ten years.
