Is Caramba opening this year?

When we were out in Feb I'm sure there was a for sale sign in the window when we walked past. If I'm thinking of the correct place on Calle Mestral, just off Joan XIII.

Doesn't mean of course that they wont be open I know as lots of places seem to have for sale signs!!

There are still lots of Internet Cafés about. Check the menu on the left

Thanks Sparky

Caramba was mentioned by bishopscourt and LK 1960 as a place you could print off your boarding pass for Jet2 online checkin that was all, so I thought it relevant here to ask if it was opening this year.

Thanks for keeping me right!

Default Online Checkin

Used Jet2 online check in last night for our flight to Palma in May. refering to the first post on this thread our seats were allocated for us and if you tried to change them then the £3.99 charge came up so you don't seem to be able to pick. The seats we were allocated going were fine but returning they tried to give us two aisle seats, (now this is the first time we have flown without the kids for 18 years so one of us would like a window seat as the negotiations over the last few years over this prized seat has been tense to say the least and a child always won ) I waited half an hour or so and tried again and the seat alloocation had changed giving us a window seat. Printed of the boarding cards and I shall let you know if this worked well at Leeds.

Smile Jet 2 online checkin seat allocation

Hi there, you don't have to wait half an hour. Make sure you don't leave checkin until a few hours before as it may not work. I have done the following system twice, a couple of days before flight. It takes a while but works a treat! Just logout after your first allocation without accepting it, then back in straight away and you will be offered the next seat along. Keep doing this until you get a better seat allocation. After about 10 mins they start allocating the original seat they gave to you so you can't really go more than one row. They allocate from the back of the plane seat A then B, C etc to F then it moves one row in front A .... Book all your family members immediately after your first one, doing the same if necessary & Bob's your uncle. Seat selection, no extra cost, although don't expect to be sitting at the front of the plane!

Default Jet 2 online check in

Just a quick note to beware of Jet2's attempt to extract even more of your hard earned cash from your wallet. This morning I decided to do the online check in thing for our flight from Leeds to Palma in June. There's 3 of us, me, my other half and our 3 year old son. First I checked myself in and even though the plane is only a quarter full it defaulted to the windown seat at the very back of the plane, so I thought hey ho, it's only a 2 hour flight (bear in mind that I refuse out of principle to pay the extra £5.99 charge to choose your own seat). I then proceeded to check in my wife and wouldn't you know it, the seat alolocated to her is over the aisle and in the middle! I then checked in our son and yet again (even though he is 3!) it defaulted to a separate seat. This on a plane with hundred of unallocated seats.

The reason I am banging on about this is just be wary, Jet2 (like any airline at the mo) will do anything, no matter how customer unfriendly - to take more money from you. I just went ahead and booked the seats anyway and we'll sort it our when we get on. Outrageous.

Just back today from a quick break in PP and we used the online check in for the first time. Going out from Leeds Bradford was fine just dropped off bag and away we went for breakfast. Picking up luggage at Palma end was over an hour wait which was frustrating.
This morning at Palma was a nightmare as there was no clear quick drop check in and we waited for half an hour before anything moved as they were having technical problems, I was glad we had our seats allocated already though as they seemed to be shoving people anywhere on the plane to get everyone on in time.

not really jet2 staffs problem, more the check in staff at palma

but on returning last year we were charged 40 euro for excess baggage

wife had packed all booze an ciggies in the suitcases rather than carry on as hand luggage to allow us to travel light

only told us our bags were too heavy after they has dissapeared down the chute, too late to transfer to hand luggage then

the dissapointing thing was my 2 daughters and i had no hand luggage at all and technically could have carried on another 30 kgs between us, were'nt interested in our appeal at jet2 desk when we went to pay up

You wouldn't have been able to take the booze through, though, unless it was under 200ml...they would have confiscated it which would have been far worse, surely!

I once nearly packed an expensive bottle of whisky (destined for my dad) in my hand luggage...I just remembered at the last minute and put it in my suitcase!
