Arriving at Palma Airport

We flew with Jet2 this year and our flights were excellent and on time. However, when we landed at Palma it was almost an hour before we were able to get off the plane and another hour before the luggage came out. I thought we were just unlucky and wasn't really worried as we were just happy to be there, but my daughter experienced the same delays the following week and my sister too was unable to get off her plane for over an hour and the luggage took even longer. I realise it's the busiest time of year, and they mentioned something about staff sickness amongst the airport bus drivers, but being stuck on the plane in the heat was pretty unpleasant.

We have visited Palma many times with Monarch, BMIbaby and have never had the delays you mention. We are usually landed and out of the airport, complete with baggage within 3/4 hour.

I know there were some issues with a baggage handlers work to rule in June because our flight was delayed for half an hour while one man loaded all the bags!

I thought that had all finished, but maybe not.

HI , That`s a shame, when you arrive at palma tha last thing you want to do is sit down for "another "hour , you just want to get along to the Port don`t you ?
We flew Jet 2 for the first time in May, no problems and the luggage was beginning to hit the conveyor belt by the time we ambled down to reclaim and had the inevitable "WC" stop.Sorry to hear that. TT

Easyjet

Just wanted to say we had no such problems, this time Easyjet came up trumps both ways, we boarded at 8.40 am left on time and I was swimming in the sea at PP at 12.10, a record trip of 3 1/2 hours Luton to PP, my sister-in-law went to Cornwall on the same day and it took them 8 ½ hours. Coming back just the same take off time was due to be 23.10 and we took of at 23.05, but in Luton at 1.20, just over two hours. Unfortunately we waited for nearly and hour for the luggage to come through and then had to stand in the rain for ½ hours for the carpark transfer coach, but hey thats England for you.
