Default Lost Luggage

Anyone know how good the lugage staff are at locating lost baggage. Travelled back to Manchester with First Choice on Sunday. Minus not One but Two suitcases when we arrived. Just looked at form they gave me and noticed that it says I should have got a copy of the PIR form I filled in (well it was 6am ) but was not given one. I have tried ringing First Choice and Manchester Airport with no answer. Has anyone else been through this or can offer and advice. We did have an excellent holiday in CSV .

How awful re your luggage!

We once had a damaged suitcase & I made sure I reported it at the airport (Easyjet desk) even though it took ages. I then used that form to claim a new suitcase from EasyJet's insurers.

As I understand it the cover you get from an airline is a lot less than that provided by Travel Insurance if l

I think, but am not sure, that it should have been reported straightaway but if there's no-one there am not sure what you are supposed to do.

Anyone else have experience?

Re Manchester/First Choice, is this the number you tried:
"First Choice Airways Servisair/GlobeGround 0870 0664107"

Thanks for the Number. It was the correct department non of this choose an option stuff in some far away land. The bags have still not been located yet but they will send me a copy of the PIR. They also said that they were having a lot of problems with Palma luggage at the moment. So once again thanks for the number. Maybe it would be of help to others if anyone has this sort of information, it could be shared with others because this saved me a lot of time and efort to find the correct department straight away even though I still do not have my bags.

Glad that number helped. I found it by putting 'Lost luggage Manchester airport' into Google & got this page:
www.manchesterairport.co.uk/web.nsf/Content/LostOrDelayedLuggageArriving There's probably a similar page for all the airports. Airport websites can be found on www.puertopollensa.com/airports-majorca-uk.html

Great News - that's my worst nightmare - losing my luggage. Some people recommend that a couple split their clothes etc. between two suitcases, so if you lose one at least you both have something to wear. But if you lose two...

Great news Dolgoed.

For a few years now we have split our clothes on the outward journey so that if one case goes at least we have enough to be going on with.

Never yet had either case opened for any kind of search, can just imagine the sceptical eyebrows being raised!!:eek :eek
