Flights to/from Palma from Brum

My wife and I are hoping to spend 2/3 weeks in PP starting early March 2008. We want to make our own arrangements this timre (fed up with package hols).

Has anyone arranged their own flight from Birmingham (we'd prefer Brum but we'd consider other UK airports) and can recommend an airline? Anything on Monarch airlines?

I'm not sure whether you've already visited the main site but we try to list all the flights from each airport - see www.puertopollensa.com/flights-palma-majorca.html#BHX

By the way, I have a very soft spot for Brum as I went to the University there & met my husband who was there too (a good 30 years ago!)

flights from Brum

Hello Brummie
Living in Solihull i have flown from Bham to Palma for the last twenty years.Monarch are in my opinion about the best (but not the cheapest) BMI baby are ok.
There are no Easyjet or Ryanair flights to Palma as yet but you can get flight only seats on most of the charter carriers (First Choice,Thomsons,Mytravel etc) at very reasonable prices.
Thomsonfly fly from Coventry and Brum. They are cheap but go very early (6am) from Cov and only once or twice a week from Brum.

Hope this helps

Re: flights from Brum

I'll look at the details on your link, ezOP. Nice to hear from someone who doesn't hate Brum! As you can imagine, it's changed a lot and we actually get tourists now! We live near the university (Edgbaston) and several times a week we walk from the uni into the city centre via the renovated canal.

Thanks, joey36. I'll look further into Monarch (which had already caught my eye). I'm prepared to pay a bit extra if it reduces the hassle and perhaps means travelling with a better class of passenger? (Though I'm sure people on this forum who use cheaper flights would make ideal travelling companions!)

The bit about 'better class of passenger' was a tongue-in-cheek remark, snowy - though 'better behaved' would have been more appropriate - I didn't mean to come across as snobbish.
