Default Storing Baggage

I've never been to Mallorca before, and am looking forward to 2 weeks in PP in August, when my family & I share a villa with good freinds. Our return flight leaves Palma in the evening, and we have to vacate the villa in PP in the morning. Fancy looking around Palma for the afternoon etc. until we have to go to the airport to catch flight. However.......will have lots of cases &/or baggage (ie 7 persons worth).

It doesn't appear that Palma airport has any facility to deposit our baggage in a storage for several hours, and will only accept our baggage when we book in for the flight. Does anyone have any idea where we can store our cases for the afternoon ?

Hello mr mole,

We have a smiliar problem in that we vacate our villa in the morning and our flight is not until the evening. We get around this problem by having a leisurely drive around the island and make sure we stop for lunch somewhere scenic. Our luggage then stays in our hire car (in the boot and out of sight) until we return it at the airport.

Two years ago, our last day turned out to be the best of the holiday! We ambled along the coast road and stopped in Porto Petro for a long leisurely lunch, arriving at the airport in good time to check in.

Just an idea...you could always see Palma during your holiday.

Hi There.

If you fancied staying in the Puerto Pollensa area on your last day you might try the Multi Video/Hire shop who offer a storage facility & also a shower/changing room facility. They are situated on c/ Mendez Nunez, opposite the Flora Apartments.

Have a nice holiday

Thanks for the advice.

We weren't plannign to hire a car, although we could do if we could hire in PP and leave at Palma airport. we were hoping to use the spare time on our last day to have alook around Palma &/or other places, so maybe we could find soemwhere that will store baggage in Palma.

Both options ae worth exploring, so thanks again.

Regards.

I understand they've just spend a lot of money at the railway station in Palma, which is ideally situated if you want a wander. There's also a bus stop right nearby for the bus to the airport. Perhaps there's a left baggage area there?

What do you consider excellent rates? I asked the cost of a months rental in winter and was told 400€ (I had already been offered 200€ from another company!)

Thanks for the advice Gina. Which we took.
We used the video hire shop on Menez Nunez to store our bags on the last day of our holiday, as we had to be out of villa in am and weren't being collected by airport transfer company until evening. We found them good value for money & friendly. You can have a shower there too, although it is advisable to book the services you want from them in advance, as they are in demand. The hire shop hires all manner of stuff, including air con, beds, bikes, cots, etc. etc.
The proprietors are ex-pats, so excellent english too, and they gladly helped me order a taxi to transport our bags between our villa and their shop.
