We had a bit of a nightmare return journey a few weekends back, doing our usual Thursday afternoon from Gatwick, returning Monday night. The flight out was affected by French ATC, resulting in a 3hr delay. I kept my £20 food receipts and 50e after midnight car hire fee receipts. Then on the way back, we were informed of a three hour delay whilst still in the Port, so contacted Vanrell, who let us keep the car FOC for 2hrs and went for a quick meal at Suirrell, for 39euros. (hand luggage only) the flight was eventually 5 hrs late and we got to bed at 4.30am and were working next day. Urgh!! :(

Anyway, I've been refunded all the above costs plus our taxi from LGW at £45, plus £220 each for the delayed flight, so a total of about £580, which was almost worth it! :)

Easyjet Flights

Just to give you all the Heads Up, my daily check has revealed that EasyJet Flights are now available up until 1st August 2024. Hope this help a few of you.

I have just tried to book flights for next July and website says bookings only until 2nd June. I have tried various airports and used both a PC and a mobile with same result.

Rockape 03-08-2023 11:59

Thats correct. I get an email telling me when the next batch are opening, but nothing yet.

If you are flying from LGW, BA are/were doing good value flights up to July, but limited days.

Rockape 03-08-2023 12:03

We had a awful couple of flights in July from LGW to PMI and back. 3.5 hour delay going out and 2 hrs coming back. No compensation this time, as they blamed Air Traffic issues. A late arrival meant a 50 euro bill from the Hire Car company too as was after midnight. Hoping for better in mid August.

I understand that Ryanair flights are now out into summer 24

My Post of 3rd August saying Easyjet flights out until August 24 was a bum steer. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. :o:
