Easyjet and masks

Easyjet are taking a firm view on the use of masks.

We flew back yesterday and one man continually refused to wear a mask properly after being told many times during the boarding process.

He and his wife were offloaded before take off with the support of the rest of the passengers. They were also quite mouthy to the crew who acted with great self restraint and professionalism.

I would imagine they would have a difficult time getting another flight back to Gatwick. Presumably having offloaded them once, EJ wouldn't take them again, and I am not sure if there are any others flying to Gatwick at the moment.

Our flight left Palma with just 25 passengers, and the incoming flight had 35. I am not sure how much longer EJ can run a schedule with 3 flights a day

What is the matter with some people!! Surely they knew the rules when they booked their flight. I just don’t get the selfish mentality of people who say masks don’t make any difference..as if they’ve got some inside information. Until this pandemic is over mask wearing is going to be around for a long time so people need to get over themselves.

My daughter actually said to me the other day ‘Mum that mask really suits you’ We laughed for ages afterwards at the ridiculousness of the comment... 2020 conversations hey :D

That's good news! It would make me feel safer when travelling, especially after recent reports of customers on other airlines not bothering to wear masks, to know that anyone not complying will be removed from the flight. I do fear for the survival of airlines though..... my husband flew to Palma with Easyjet just before the quarantine was introduced and there were less than 20 people on the return flight..... how long can that be sustained? (The same goes for trains - on his journey yesterday back from London, in the height of the rush hour, there were three people in his carriage! - it's crazy....) Debz1, I know EXACTLY what you mean about bizarre post-Covid conversations - so weird to be checking every morning that my daughters 'have got their masks, hand sanitiser and cutlery' before they leave for school (they aren't allowed to sit in the canteen to eat so have to take their own reusable knives and forks!)
