Default Jet2 2019 Flight Prices

Got a promotional email from Jet2 today, urging "Where will you fly next Summer?"

Well, Mr Dart, not Majorca! A quick browse seemed to show up some big numbers for all flights for all dates.

My test purchase for an admittedly busy week - May Bank Hoilday - out from Leeds Bradford May 25th, return June 1st. I slightly tweaked the flight times and took advantage of a discount on bag/seat/meal offer.

And the cost of my test purchase? £703 each !!

Book early for best prices?? Discuss

WE have always used Jet2 but their prices this year got me to check EasyJet, flights same day and only 1 hour earlier a saving of £82 each pays to shop around.

Agree - J2 are just getting extortionate. I've just booked flights for 2 people at the beginning of June next year from LBA (accommodation already booked) and it cost £720 - including seats and hold bags. We always used to travel with Monarch from Manchester as it was not much dearer than J2 was - including airport overnight hotel accommodation and car parking - and Monarch was more user friendly and transparent. And I have had to do a telephone booking as the checkout page on the web was faulty - would only accept '20' as a card expiry date. But not much alternative and will not use Ryanair or Easyjet. Not a happy bunny

I can understand you not using Ryanair (strike central at the moment) but easyJet? I’ve used them for years and never ever had a problem.

Just a quick note after seeing Rosie's post (re £720). I've checked my test purchase and the numbers come out the same - £703 each - £1406 for two.

Of course that is the return fare

For a family of four you are looking at £2812.

Seems to me like they want everyone on their flights to be Jet2 Holidays customers.

Just my opinion but I would always be wary booking this early anyway. Often the airlines haven't yet got their full schedule locked down and therefore just give a high price for all flights. Each year we always book our years flights in the January of that year and always find they have come down to 'normal' prices. Maybe Jet2 have their schedule already and are just high for some reason but I think it may be an idea just to keep and eye on it and I am sure they will come down in time.

We travel with Thomson now Tui flight only locally and it does cost us a lot but we think it is worth it as it saves the trek to Gatwick and also when we come in June there are invaribly Air traffic control strikes and whereas Ryanair and Easyjet have cancelled flights because of this TUI flights are mainly full of their holidaymakers they fly with delays

So to us that makes it worth the extra cost

Yes - perhaps! We took a Jet 2 Holiday last April to Malta (for Gozo) and the flights including all transfers and lovely hotel were very reasonable and extremely efficient. (But this wouldnt work for us for Palma and PP!)
