Unhappy Horror of Horrors..French ATC strike.

There is a French ATC from tomorrow for 6 days. Oh no....may not now be strolling down Pine Walk by 5pm on Sunday afternoon. Very annoyed!

French Air Traffic Control Strike - UPDATE

24th June - 30th June 2014

The DGAC (Directorate General for Civil Aviation) met this morning and we have been informed that one of the Unions has taken the decision NOT to strike. We have been advised that we must still cancel approx 25% of our operation, including a number of flights specifically from Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Paris Orly, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

We are continuing to do everything possible to minimise the impact to our customers. All customers on the affected flights will be informed by SMS and e-mail, with up to date information on this page of easyJet.com. For cancelled flights, all our customers will be offered a free of charge transfer to a new flight or a full refund. We strongly advise customers who wish to travel and want to rebook easyJet flights to AVOID rebooking flights for any day between 24th-30th June as there is a high likelihood of further disruption that could cause further cancellations.

For real time information we strongly recommend that all customers flying with us throughout the period check the status of their flight on our Flight Tracker page before going to the airport. If you are using our mobile website (m.easyjet.com) or mobile apps on either iOS or Android devices we strongly urge you to subscribe to push notifications and you’ll automatically receive updates relevant to your flight. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused despite this being beyond the airline’s control.

Oh Animagic - They do it every year dont they I really hope that you escape a delay or at least have a short one and can be on Pine Walk by maybe 6pm (We got caught up coming back last year and I think we had a 2 hour delay at Palma and then the pilot said he would take a detour to avoid froggy airspace so it would take longer to get back I still dont know if he was joking or not

Yes, I remember last year...we took off on time but Palma Airport was full of people who had slept in the airport. A delay is better than canx, keeping fingers crossed!!!!

This action is causing more flight cancellations and some very long delays, it's disgraceful .

Brilliant news although little comfort to those that have already suffered delays and cancelled flights.
I really believe that it's time for the European parliament to do something to prevent this happening year after year .
