Default Holiday Report

Recently returned from another great holiday in PP. (18th year! )

Weather was excellent with a nice cooling breeze. We were staying half board in a hotel, so not many restaurant reports except to mention Sunday lunch at the Brisa Marine. We joined many locals ordering a fish paella (is this Mallorcan traditional Sunday lunch?) Locals seemed to be eating in, collecting paellas to take away on foot, by car and by bike. The paella was excellent. Followed by a highly recommended lemon sorbet with a generous dash of vodka....... mmm great!

We also visited the Es Verger lamb restaurant up in the hills above Alaro reached by a single track winding road ( as featured on a Rick Stein TV programme and mentioned in another forum thread). What an experience , full of rustic charm and the roast lamb was different to any lamb we’ve ever tasted and well earned after a strenuous walk up to Alaro castle high above.

We can recommend a trip to the Caves of Campanet for a drive out if you have a car, even if you don’t go down the caves, coffee on the terrace overlooking the countryside is beautiful. The countryside with its tall cypresses trees is very reminiscent of Tuscany. However don’t go if you have an allergy to cats as many cats were lying around sleeping in the shade.

Also thanks to Sparky for arranging the forum meet up on Tuesday, It was great meeting and chatting to so many nice people. Agatha says "Where were you Disorderley ?!"

Looking forward to returning next year with all the family.

Did you get the postcard left for you on your last evening at Brisa Marine?
