Default Rancho Grande

Fantastic trip with No Frills.

We did this trip mid week last year and enjoyed it, so booked for a Saturday night this year.

Picked up in port around 4ish took about an hour to get there as lots of pick ups, had few drinks from bar (extra) while waiting for other parties to arrive. Horse riding started around 6, they have 3 levels so great for total novices like us or experienced riders. Ride lasted around an hour then had some free time before going in for BBQ, food was fine unlimited Sangria, soft drinks, wine in room where meal served. Line dance tuition a hoot as always, seemed to get more time afterwards this year.
Sparky and lollipop like this.

Hi Sunny,

We're thinking of possibly doing Rancho Grande this summer, but just wondered if you could answer a couple of questions.

Can you remember roughly what time the evening finished? Or what is the earliest time people started to leave?

The reason I ask that is because we have a 6 year old - so the next question is, do you think it would be suitable for her? Were there any children that young riding when you went?

Thank you in anticipation.

There were a few young children there, they were riding at the very front leading the trail. They have little petting zoo and bouncy castle to keep them entertained while waiting to go on horses. Can't remember what time we left think we were back in port 11 ish. Hope this helps.

Sunny, thank you so much for the reply (and to Sparky also).

I think 11pm may be a little too late for our 6 year old, but we will be on holiday so we'll see what happens!

I think they do daytime rides as well for children (and adults) - am assuming these run right through the year, as they were certainly available in April. As far as I remember there were two options - one was a longer ride than the other, and one involved riding through woodland. I don't know whether they pick up from the port for these though, you'd probably have to get yourself there. Personally with young children I would go during the day anyway as the animals in the petting zoo are all awake and running around.

Worth asking at no frills office on front what time return would be. Its the ranch transport that is used they pick up and drop off from your hotel. Husband went to the day time excursion year before last along a beach some nudists, kids found it too hot.

Default Great

My daughter and friend were picked up from Flora at lunch time. Really friendly employee. She said there was riding for all. They are both experienced riders and loved it. They both recommend that you take/wear long trousers and trainers as you won't have riding gear with you. We are back in September and looking forward to another visit.
