Default Visiting LLuc.

Hi,
I'm visiting Puerto Pollensa very soon and one of the excursions I wish to do is visit Lluc for the first time. The bus leaves P.P. at 10.00am but does it definitly stop at Lluc on the way back? Is it worth visiting Sa Calobra or is it very touristy? Thanks for any info given as much appreciated.

Hi Jojo21,

Not sure re the buses, but Lluc is well worth a visit. The view at the top of the hill where the large cross stands to the rear of the monastry is breathtaking. So quiet and peaceful.
Sa calobra is a bit touristy, with boat and bus trips arriving. Best to visit early morning or about 4.00pm. Still worth a visit.

New areas have been opened for visitors, this is reported in the El conseller Gómez y el obispo Salinas 'recorren' el «Corazón de Mallorca» en Lluc » Part Forana » Noticias » Ultima Hora Mallorca

The Sanctuary of Lluc has released new reception rooms, welcoming space, located in one of the towers of entry, where through an interactive table can all sacred places. I think that Lluc is a wonderful place to visit for many differing reasons. Yes it can be so peaceful up there - can also be quite busy - and the views / countryside around Lluc are magnificent as are the Monastery buildings themselves. Also look out for the times that the choir sings each day, it can be very moving and atmospheric.
Regarding new areas, etc. Well not exactly new but 'revised' car parking arrangements from previous years. Car parking is now to be paid for... controlled both going in and coming out. It's a sliding scale, depending how long you stay. Obviously you won't be affected if you travel by bus. See this forum for bus timetable (look under 'Once You're There' - left hand side).
