Default Arta and Ermita de Betlem

Coming over in 10 days time for a weeks stay and looking on our new map for some different places to explore. We have never been to Ermita de Betlem or stopped in Arta so basically is it work a drive out? Though we might have a trip to Campanet but haven't found many recent mentions of it on the forum.
If the weather is good might just spend it on the beach in PP though...

We drove up to the Ermita de Betlem last year - bit of a hairy ride but worth it as it is a beautiful peaceful place when you get there And we went to Campanet Caves during the same holiday. They are fascinating but what was surprising was the lovely exterior setting where you can have a coffee etc and just relax. But we went there the hard way - instead of following the signs from the m/way we drove to Campanet itself and thought we'd never get out! Talk about narrow streets Have a lovely holiday.

I would definitely recommend a drive to Arta. Taking the main road from Alcudia you pass the entrance to Santuario de San Salvador before you reach Arta. This has a fairly steep climb but the views from the top are breathtaking. On a clear day you can see most of the east coast and right across the central plain.

Arta itself is a lovely traditional town and we often go there for lunch. There is a pedestrianised road Calle Ciudad which has numerous restaurants most very reasonably priced.

I also love visiting the Campanet Caves. Whilst the caves are interesting, as Rosie says the terrace outside of the caves is lovely particularly out of season when you can just sit with a coffee, relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the countryside and the peace broken by the odd tinkling of sheep bells. Best to go to the motorway via Pollenca, head towards Palma and take the next exit. We often do this in the morning and call into Cala San Vicente for lunch on our way back to the Port. Some of the loveliest parts of the island imo.
