Default Transport advice.

Hi,

Back in PP for 2 weeks from 26th July & cant wait!!
I have booked a Deap Sea fishing trip & need to get from PP to Port Soller for 7am on the morning of the 29th. I was hoping to book one day's car hire but that is proving to be virtually impossible.
Anyone have any ideas as to the easiest & most cost effective method of transport for that time in the morning?
Thanks in anticipation.

I don't think public transport could get you there that early, to be honest it looks like it will have to be a taxi which i think would cost you a lot or an overnight stay in Soller. Of course i could well be totally wrong and someone else may be able to give you better advice.

I think that you will have to "bite the bullet" and hire a car for two days -Collecting late pm the day before your trip.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the route, but PP to Port Soller is over the mountain roads (and a bit of a b*stard of a journey) - Not really a job for a scooter, nor something that I think that you will fancy after a days fishing either! (I'm guessing that you may also be taking some kit with you?)

Soller seems to have a much bigger fishing operation than PP, but forgive my lack of knowledge, but can you not go deep sea fishing from PP?

Unfortunately the "best" fishing trips seem to go from Soller. Like the sound of a scooter - but not really practical!!
Cant seem to find any car hire from PP online!!

Stever - Try formentor motors in the Port. They are usually very good at renting for a day or two. We have used them often and found them to be reasonable price wise too.

Just another quick point

Although the route over the mountains is shorter and more scenic , it is far quicker to drive down the motorway towards Palma and turn off just after Festival Park at ( I think ) Sta Margaleda and follow the signs for Soller ....... takes you through the toll tunnel ...... you will do the journey in less than an hour

We found a Thompsons rep and booked a trip with them which was around £50 but went via Bus, then boat around to Soller then the Soller Tram, then the Soller train to Palma and back to P.P by Bus. It was an excellent trip and although costly, no worries..

Default car hire

Have you tried hiring through Holiday Autos. Put in Puerto Pollenca and then use the box with the spelling puerto polenca to check availability We have hired for 3 day for about £100
