Default Dragonera

Hi, we're coming to stay in PP on Saturday for a week and I've been looking at taking a day trip over to the other side of Mallorca and visiting the island of Dragonera. Does anybody have any advise on the boat trips to get there ie timetables, costs, how long does the trip take, and where do you get the boat from? Many thanks.

Hi,

there is a website here with some info www.conselldemallorca.net/dragonera/?lang=EN We were supposed to go there on an organised walk a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it was the day after the typhoon & the boat was not running. We had a lovely walk around San Telm instead & then to s'Araco which is worth visiting anyway.

But if you definitely want to visit Dragonera it's worth contacting the boat people in advance to check that they're runing.

Am I mistaken in believing that they actually do have the large lizzards on this Island - hence the name - as I cant find anything about them on their web site and we were hoping to take my parents there this year to see them. Is this not such a good idea?:rolleyes

Please help me out on this! I dont want to take them over on the boat if its not what they are expecting - parents can be as bad as children if you get it wrong!!

Hi Belladonna
Cant really help, I think they have a lizard that is only found on the island, but I think it is normal size and not 'large', check out the link as suggested it has a lot of useful info.

Thanks sws. had a look and it seems to be agood island to visit if you are happy generally to look at wild life etc. but we were hoping for "specialist" types of lizard, which there dont appear to be, as you say, just the one normal size. May well visit for something different to do at some point, but perhaps not this time!

Default There could be a large lizard on Dragonera . . .

That is, if my ex-mother-in-law ever visits the place.
